(excerpt) "The work Recursive Futures is a sound piece that aggregates and remixes popular tech imaginaries to produce a series of ambient future pop songs. The work is built on top of a live coding framework developed by artists Anders Visti and Tobias Stenberg. In this particular version of the work, an array of programs are executed within the framework, turning it into a self programming machine.
The work contains six distinct programs, each with its own topic ranging from technological singularities and exponential timelines to sentient artificial intelligences and post planetary architectures. The sonic and visual events are triggered through an array of finite state machines, iterating over futuristic images and illustrations—and for each iteration triggering the work’s synthesizers and sample libraries while overwriting the pixel array on the screen ..."
